How to create plugin and table in db using code

I am new to MVC and razor engine, I have to create banner management plugin, i need functionality like admin will upload the banner image through admin section, and those banners will be displayed on home page, and i need the code to insert banner images in database and retrieval code to retrieve banner images.. Can u give me any links or plugins which is easy to understand the insertion of data in db and retrieval of data from db.??
