I am not an expert, but are you using a linux hosting plan for nopcommerce?  If so, I think you will have to change to a windows hosting plan.

System requirements for nopcommerce.

On this page it says that the databases that are compatible with nopcommerce are MS SQL Server 2005 or above and MS SQL Server Compact 4.0 or above.  From the page, it does not look like a MYSQL database would work.

Yes you are correct NopCommerce is Windows platform not Linux

nopcommerce uses ms SQL server as mentioned above, you cannot use phpmyadmin to create SQL server database.
