Manufacturer-Specific Shipping

Hi,

We're using 1.90 and will be for a while. (though I peeked in the 2.5 demo)

On some of our sites we have more than one manufacturer.  We do not ship anything.  It is all shipped by manufacturers, to the end client we've sold it to.

Most of our manufacturers have fixed shipping like:
UPS Ground: $47.00 USD
UPS 3-Day Select: $57.00 USD
UPS Next Day Air: $140.00 USD
Canada: $155.00 USD

But it is specific to THAT manufacturer.

Has anyone come up with a way to make shipping that only appears for a specific manufacturer?

- I can do it with some programming, but since there are so many clever people already "nopping" most of the time someone has already solved things.

Hi David,

This option is not available out of the box. You have to customize the solution. Here is a short step list:
1. Add a new mapping table between manufacturers and shipping methods
2. Add appropriate UI to manufacturer details page (admin area)
3. Rewrite your shipping rate computation method to return shipping methods based on your configured mappings
