How do i display a grid of product categories on a page?

I have the home page which i have added a topic to the page and added content, then i have a products page where i want to display product categories in a grid.

How can i do this?

I am using version 2.5

Hi,
go admin side
catalog-->categories->list-->click on edit of category
there u can select show on home page
