Product Specification does not display in Public Store

I have created a product - Vests

Under the 'product Specifications' tab I have created Size and Colour.

these do not appear in the public store.  WHY NOT??

Such a simple thing surely??????? Driving me mad!!!

I worked it out.  After I had created Colour & Size in Catalog, Attributres, Product attributes I had to have a product variant and under the product variant attributes I had enter the Vlaues,  in case u r interested!
