Logo swap in 2.6

I have been searching the web and this forum for a way to replace the nopCommerce logo with my own. I have tried rewriting the css (a.logo) and inserting my image file into the image folder in both the template folder as well as the admin where the original logo.gif is located using the instructions posted. However the nopCommerce logo remains. Please advise.
