Base64 Images

I noticed that images are using the base64 encoding for the URL.  When I viewed the source of the page this url takes up 1/2 of the page!  This is terrible for SEO and bots.  Is there a way to turn this off?

This was actually a copy and paste image in the rich text editor.  Please disregard
