forums hiding boards ?

hiya
I currently run a forum using SMF 2 which works well for me but am now upgrading to Nop. on the SMF forum I can hide whatever boards I like and only allow access to people I nominate. Guests have access to the normal boards on the forum but I have 3 hidden boards for trade professionals to discuss information like pricing or working practices tat you wouldnt want customers to see.
Is there a way to do this with the NOP forum ?

thank you for the reply I appreciate it , I was sort of hoping someone had a way to do this .

But ... my friend who helping me does know his SQL etc but if someone could point me in the right direction on how to hide boards from the public but allow selected access I could pass it on to him to make his life easier.. and mine less costly heheh.

In truth he is helping me for free but i feel like i am taking advantage of his good nature so any help I can give him would make me feel better :-)

thank you for the link Eduardo, my old forum is built that way with ACL although I myself have no idea how to make such an ACL plugin I really hope my friend does ..
