Hiya

I have read through all the shipping posts i can find but they don't seem to help me much. ( or I am too blind to see which is more likely )

I have set uk shipping by weight and that went ok so decided to move on to setting up the international shipping but I am a bit confused so am hoping you great guys can help ?

Here goes,
Royal Mail now ship to 3 zones plus UK and it looks like this
http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/delivery-options-international/airmail/airmail-zones

UK  -
Europe -
Zone 1  -
Zone 2  -

now Royal Mail do list lots of countries and which zone they are in so that's pretty straight forward but I really don't have a clue how group the countries list in Nopcomm into zones  ?? Somebody must have done this already ?? please could you point me in the right direction ?  or what would it cost me for a plugin ?

BTW I did look at Shipping Director but that looked even more confusing to me
My Nop v is 2.6

Kind Regards
Richard

With nopC's Shipping By Weight, you can't "group the countries list".  You would have to enter each one individually.

Shipping Director may look a bit confusing at first - it's because it is highly configurable.
See this blog for an example that shows "grouping" - in this case by zip code prefix.

You can similarly do grouping by country code like this:

",US,CA,BR,MX,".Contains( ShippingAddress.Country.TwoLetterIsoCode )

(you can find the two letter iso codes in the nopC country config)

Use the Contact Us page on nopTools.com if you need additional info / assistance with Shipping Director.

hiya

Many thanks for the reply, it must just be me but when ever i try to use plugins or add ons they never seem to work for me.
I do think I may have sorted my problem by adding my zones to the ' Shipping rate computation methods' and manually de-selecting the relevant countries in the 'Shipping Method Restrictions'
It would take forever to test them all so only time will tell if it works I guess..

Many thanks

Oh Dear

It wasn't that easy..

the plan was easy but when adding a new record to the configure - shipping by weight page You have to add country first but i need to add zone first  ??

if i now buy an item and select France for the shipping it does change the shipping zone as Europe as expected but the shipping price is zero , so it cant be much of a tweak to get this to work ??

anyone ?

If I understand correctly what you've set up, it should work if you just add Shipping By Weight record(s) for each zone 'Shipping Method' you've set up.  Just leave the default "*" in Country & State.  The country restrictions you've set up should force it to only show the customer the one zone record appropriate for his country.

hi New York
At first it didn't appear to be working as on checkout the shipping price was zero, but after inputting more detail it does now look like it is working.
when a customer selects their country Nop chooses the right zone for shipping :-) all i need to input now is the correct weights and pricing for each zone and I think it will be fine and means I don't need any fancy shipping plugin's .

thanks everyone and I hope this helps UK shops shipping internationally, should I post up some screenshots ?

BTW i'm waiting on a delivery from NY can you chase that for me hehehe  only joking ..
