Is auto-login secure?

Hi, I just noticed that if I ask the site (v3.2) to save my credentials it logs me in automatically next time I visit the site. But the problem is if I save the Admin account credentials it could be a security problem since there is no SSL involved in the auto-login process.

Has anyone implemented SSL for auto-login or is it better to request credentials over SSL every time?

It's allways recommanded to use SSL, but if you save your credentials on you pc it's only you or all users who can access your pc who can access your web-app.
