Manage Admin Access - Need a Vendor Role

I'm still hoping to see some vendor features built in to the admin section.  In other words, the ability to assign products to a specific customer (Vendor).  I would create a customer role called Vendor, grant that role specific admin access to manage products.  Then a customer in the vendor role would add a product in the system.  What I need is the ability to lock that vendor to only be able to manage the products they add.

Would it be possible to get this request on the development list?
