Javascript on mainpage

I wanted to run a quick javascript widget below my product listings/categories on the main page, and above the news feed.

Any thoughts on where I should insert the javascript code! I'm looking at OneColumn.master and I see the <asp:ContentPlaceHolder> but I'm fairly new to ASP.NET master page models!
