Configuring the purchasing of products

HI, i downloaded the product and would love to start using it. I want to use everything except actually allowing the shopper to purchase products. I need to make some changes to my store before I do that, however I would still like to allow the shopper to be able to come to the nopCommerce website that I set up and see whats available in my actual store.

Also, is there a guide or documentation that should have been downloaded with the site? Do we actually pay for a piece of documentation?
