Apply New Template without have to programing?

Hi, my name is Carlos Masaya, i'm new in NopCommerce,,, so  i want to implement it with the generic template that come with the default software download and in a couple mounts, implement a purchased template, but i want to know if to implement this new template i have to programming anything and if my code persist without any problem?
