Category treeview missing in 3.8?

I've upgraded a clients site to 3.8 and i don´t see the treeview for categories anymore? is it removed from the new version?

Ohh. That´s not good. It´s probably (hopefully) back in the next update...

I've just installed 3.9 and it hasn't been put back.
