Hi!

When nop creates canonical URLs from pagination pages and canonical is enabled, it creates wrong canonical urls.

According to Google best practice, the correct way is:

1- Canonical URL must have page number attribute, in this case.

2- rel=prev and rel=next meta should be added.

The problem is: when pagination pages have canonical to first page, google simply ignores its content by understand that its the same of the canonical page. In a e-commerce context, it means that all products from other pages will be ignored. The canonical URL in this scenario should ensure that any link inside the page (filtered and ordered urls for example) should point to the same page, and the rel=prev and rel=next meta parameter will tell google that the page is under a pagination scenario and google will not say that you have duplicated content.

There is a lot of canonical and rel=prev/rel=next stuff online. You can easly check about it.

Got it?
