how does LimitedToStore bool get updated

LimitedToStore does not updated via plugin.
had to update it in the controller
am I missing something ?

when I insert an entity with insertStoreMapping the entity lemitedToStore is being updated like newsItem for exmaple.

when i follow the same with a custom plugin entity the limitedToStore boolean does not updated.
I had to update it with in the plugin controller.
