Ability to assign catalog price per currency? What happen to this being added?

Adding the ability to set a different price based on the currency has been discussed for years and is greatly needed for some of us.

I thought this was going to be available in 3.40 then 3.50 then 3.60 then 3.80 then 3.90...
Is there any new info as to why this is still not a priority? Is there any hack or plugin that can add this functionality?

I ended up helping my client add this feature as a paid project, they do need this feature as they have different prices depending on the country (and currency).
