My client runs a small local business. They deliver their own items and use fixed fees based on location. The Shipments section of (the Shipping Info Tab of the) Order Detail page is overkill for what they need. In an ideal world they would like to mark an order as delivered with a single click of a button. Right now, it requires 4 clicks to achieve the same thing and is a little confusing for said users.
- Add Shipment
- Save and Continue Edit
- Set as Shipped
- Set as Delivered
Is there a way, by configuration, to reduce the number of steps required, making delivery status a binary Delivered/Not Delivered? If not, I can develop something, but wanted to confirm first.

Typically, 'Delivered' is a status to indicate that the 3rd party shipper has delivered the package.
For your purposes with that client, it seems like you could just skip the 'Delivered' status step...'Shipped' should suffice for you. So, when you create the shipment, save as "Shipped"...done.
