Invoice numbering on v3.6

We have a store where the invoice number keeps jumping by 100 and no one is resetting it!
on 2016-1-11 it started with id 1.
When invoice number 62 was used, the system jumped the NEXT invoice to 1062.
After #1072 the system made the next 2071!
After #2083 the next became 3082.
After #3092 the next became 4092.
After #4110 the next was 5110.
After #5118 the next was 6118.

What is going on??? The activity logs have NO activity between the jumps beyond product edits, additions or removals and a couple category edits. No settings changes (even though there are only 2 of us with access I checked the log).

Yep and an easy resolution with the t272 parameter! Thanks for pointing me in the general right direction. And as for Microsoft, enhancement or feature my rear!
