Cant locate homepage slider graphics version 3.9

I'm trying to replace the 2 slider graphics on the homepage ; doing an Chrome>inspect element, it says its here :

<img class="nivo-main-image" src="http://mydomain.com/content/images/thumbs/0000078_banner_2.jpg" style="display: inline; width: 446px; height: 193px;">

..but even after deleting the original stock images and replacing them with my own, the originals show, so i'm having problems locating where they are published live.

This is something that you can actually do from within the admin area:
go to admin >> Configuration >> Plugins >> Local Plugins >> Nivo Slider >> Configure
