Order Tracking Number

What about the ability to enter a tracking number for a customer order, actually based on products in case all products do not ship on a particular shipment, and an email being generated and sent to the customer noting the items shipped and the shipment tracking number along with a link to the tracking page for the shipping vendor, i.e. UPS, FedEx or USPS?

Along this if we also can  communicate and save communication with the customer regarding a particular order in order notes, that will be great. So customer can log in and see the progress of order and notes about the order and reply to them.
