Going from database to Filesystem

We started out having our products writing to our MSSQL DB. Since we have a 200mb limit we are pretty much done. Now after you switch to the filesystem for the images is there a way through a script or something where we dont have to manually reassign all the images.

No, there isn't such option.

switching in live environment  was implemented with chageset 57314 which you can download at http://nopcommerce.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets

or you can wait until the next official release
