Design freedom, theme files?

Hi

I have been working with nopCommerce for a couple of months, but I am struggling to reskin the app without totally changing the code throughout, master pages, controls, css and code behind files.
I could design according to nopCommerse output but clients bring me designs that they want implemented

My question, Is anybody managing to do full reskins only using themes files?
Any tips or design processes on how to achieve this would be much appreciated!

You can achieve most of the changes by changing the images and style sheet, but if you want to move elements, then you would have to make changes in master pages and modules.
