Price and Description on Home Page

I have seen quite a few comments throughout the forum on how to get the price on the home page and have tried a few without success (perhaps it is my own skills that are hindering me).  However, one would think that it would be pretty easy to get the price and the short description on the home page of an eCommerce shopping cart system but I have failed miserably.  So, if anyone would be so kind as to walk me through this process, it would be greatly appreciated.  

Right now, I am running version 1.8 with MSSQL 2005, and ASP .NET 4.0.  Thank you!

You probably set the prices can only be shown to customers who are logged in.

You need to find the attribute "Hide prices for non-registered customers" and uncheck it. It can be found in global settings "other"...
