what are cross-sell products and how to make use of it ?
I did try to add cross-sell product but i don't see any change or addition.
what are cross-sell products ?

It is a very nice feature in which you can connect your products will other products (i.e. cross-sell products).
And your cross-sell products will be displayed on the shoppingcart.aspx page while checking out something like this:
"Based on your selection, you may be interested in the following items:"
Cross-sell product1
Cross-sell product2
...and so on...
