Hi guys,

Just trying the deploy feature on Visual Studio for my nopCommerce site.

Have an issue that when I re-deploy all the files to the server, the nopCommerce site showed the install page once more even though I installed the site on the previous deployment.

Was a bit surprised by this. Thought I'd ask the community for any clarification and if they have seen this happen to them during development.

If it helps, I am managing and hosting the site on IIS.

Thank you,
Ahmed.

Yes that right it does not copy the .json setup files when you publish
Generally it is a different server so they wont work anyway.
When I setup a new server I always let the install run to check everything is setup correctly and you can see the website operating correctly.
Then change the settings file to point to the correct database if you are copying one from development

Ah yes, good point Yidna.

You would want to run the install on a brand new server.

For future deployments, I should make sure never to have the settings .json file overriden then to prevent it from showing the install once more. That seems to be what is occuring as well.

Thank you!
