Using an image and not drop-down for currency selection

Hello,

I wan't to ask if it is possible to use an image as the currency selector instead of the dropdown box. I personally don't like to see dropdown boxes in the header and think a small icon displaying each currency mode would be a nice visual. Of course when you click said icon the store currency changes as it would when you use the dropdown.

I hope it can be done and isn't too much work.
