How do I redirect a domain alias?

This may not be a NOPCommerce specific question but maybe someone is still willing to help me?

I would like to redirect a domain alias "www.thesite.com" to www.site.com"

How can I do this?  I was looking at how to create a .htaccess file but I could not get it to work?

This would be done through your DNS settings using CNAME to map several domain names to a single computer.

You could also perform the same action by setting your IIS to point to a single working directory for each domain name if you are running your own web server.
