Users registering without completing all mandatory fields

I have a number of instances where users have registered and activated, but when i look at their account in the administration site, i see that there is no address or name - just email address and presumably a password (as they are logging in).

Any ideas please?

Have you configured the Form Field settings required in admin>Configuration>Global Settings>Customer Profiles?

yes!

On my computer, and majority of registrations, all the required fields are correctly filled out. Its just a handful that seems to "bypass" it!
