maintainScrollPositionOnPostBack="true" not working

I have added this statement to the Web.config

<pages maintainScrollPositionOnPostBack="true" theme="DarkOrange" validateRequest="false" controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion="3.5" clientIDMode="AutoID" >

i have tried smartNavigation too

no effect at all. Any suggestions?

What browser are you using.  It works with IE, but does not seem to work in Firefox.  I think there is something one must activate in firefox or code the app differently to get this to work in different browsers.   I have asked the question in another forum, but have not yet received an answer to how to fix it in FF.
