Seems that there will be an intermediate version (2.65) of nopCommerce released in the near time because of an issue in FluentValidation described here and here.

In brief, the previous version FluentValidation library (and hence nopCommerce) does not work on servers with ASP.NET 4.5 installed. It should be done as soon as possible because many servers (on shared hosting) will be upgraded to ASP.NET 4.5 in the near time

Hi Andrei,

Please let us know if you decide to make a 2.65 release and decide on a date, so that we can plan for it as there are quite a lot of changes in the css and it will be a major release for all theme vendors.

Many thanks

I'll finish a couple of tasks and release the new version on this week. Most probably, on Thursday or Friday.

Hi Andrei,

Many thanks for letting us know that.
So we have a few more days for upgrading starting from now.

Hi Andrei,
is it necessary to follow the upgrade or, in case of keeping 4.0 instead of 4.5 in the while, we can switch directly from 2.60 to 2.70 (avoiding a lot of boring work for 2.65)?

No, it's not necessary. You can upgrade to 2.70 later (whenever you want) if you still use .NET 4.0.

The same can be told about any version. I think that upgrading to any new version should be done when it's really required.

looks like there are many other work items related to 2.65 like 30 to 40 work items.

so when 2.70 will be available, upgrade script for 2.60 to 2.70 and 2.65 to 2.70 both will be available ? if no then which one will be available ?

There are no any active work items for for 2.65.

2.70 will be available at the end of September (as planned). There will be two upgrade scripts: "2.60 to 2.65" (available with 2.65 release) and "2.65 to 2.70" (available with 2.70 release)
