Being logged out when making changes

HI There,
I am being automatically logged out when I add products or change images. I then need to log in a few times in a row before the product appears - is there a setting I have missed?
Any help welcome.

Check the System > Log for any error messsages.
You might need a Machine Key.  Read FAQ here
