PayPal Standard odd behaviour

I am using v1.9 and am having some strange behavior with the PayPal Standard payment method.  Everything seems to work and I get to the point where it says "You will be redirected to PayPal site to complete the order." with the next button.  When you click the next button, it immediately goes straight to the 'Confirm Order' page.  If you click confirm it then says your order has been completed and it finishes.

I don't know why it isn't going to the PayPal site.

Any thoughts?

More information when the order is entered, it is entered as pending.  

It may be I just don't understand how this is suppose to work.  I assumed the user would be sent to PayPal where they confirm their purchase and the result would be sent back to nopCommerce.   It doesn't seem to work that way and it leaves the user in a feeling of limbo.

Am I missing something?

did u get a fix for this, I am having the exact same problem and cannot for the life of me work out where I'm going wrong??

I suppose it's a standard behavior.

I am facing the same problem. If I click on the next button, Nop is going directly to the confirm order page. After clicking this you get to the Paypal site. After the payment I end up on the homepage of my store, even that I have the right redirecting pages in Paypal. What causes this? Thx in advance for help!
