Hi Shawn,

Right. You still need the copyright removal key

We are going to buy Copyright Removal License in nearer days so after that we will remove "Powered By NopCommerce".
But Can we add "Powered by XXXXX" or "Developed by XXXXX" after purchasing copyright removal keys?

Yes, you can

Hi Laviniu,

These are two distinct URLs (even if one of them in a virtual directory of another one). So you need two keys.

But I presume you're going to use "www.mysite.com/nopcommerce" for demo or test purposes. So if its URL clearly says that it's for testing purposes (contains "nopCommerce", "demo" or "test"), then it's fine to don't purchase the key. It's illegal in terms of our license, but no worries about it. So one URL for  "www.mysite.com" in your particular case.

Hello,
I have a similar situation.
I'm going to use (resell) nopCommerce in place of my actual (quite obsolete) ecommerce software for merchants and web agencies. I'm going to buy a removal license for the main www.mywebsite.it store (where I will sell software related services) and I need to setup a demo subdomain like:
demo.mywebsite.it
Can I avoid to buy one more license, clearly stating that this subdomain installation is a demo/testing site?

Do you confirm that I can resell the software (and related services) by respecting the NPL license? (therefore maintaining the nopCommerce copyright in every page, unless I buy a removal licensem for each ecommerce installation)?

Thank you!

Hi Paolo,

No, you need two copyright removal keys (one for each site)

Yes. GPL (and NPL too) does not prevent you from reselling. Just purchase the copyright removal key for each sold installation and ensure that you're meeting our license terms

Thanks for your quick reply.
I have one more question:
If I'm going to resell the software (with some little customizations), which kind of license I have to attach with it? The NGPL license?
Could I adopt a customized license? Something like MYNGPL, basically the same as the NGPL but that requires my customers to have in every page the statement:
Powered by nopCommerce and MyCommerce
unless they buy a single-domain copyright removal key?

Thanks in advance,
Paolo

There's no such license as NGPL. We have NPL license

Yes. Just ensure that it meets all terms of our current license

Yes, sorry, I meant NPL (therefore MYNPL for the "customized" version);
By this way I'll ensure that my customer will not use the software removing nopCommerce statement without buying a removal key.
Thanks again for your clarification and congratulation for the great work; I'm going to buy a single removal key for my demo shop and an enterprise license of documentation.

Hi. We have several "development" shopping carts visible at any given time for our customers to view the progress and test. I understand that we do not need to purchase the removal key for these carts until they have a live domain attached to them. We will purchase the removal keys for them when they go live as we don't always know the what the live url will be until that time. Do we need to let you know what the domain is that the development carts are attached to so we don't get flagged for not having purchased removal keys for them yet? They are all subdomains of the same root domain name when we put them out for the customers to test them so that would be easy for you guys to know it's not a live cart. We just want to make sure we are doing everything right and don't want the customers to be getting contacted about not having purchased a removal key yet.

Thank you,
Ed

Hi Ed,

No, there's no need to let us know about such domains. You have two ways to go:
1. Leave "powered by nopCommerce" on your test site
2. Choose subdomain names so we understand that they are really for test sites. For example, include "test" or "demo" keyword into domain name.

Hi,

We spent money purchasing the right to remove the nopCommerce logo, especially to get rid of it from the Facebook Shop Plugin page; but we don't know how to do it.

Right now the nopCommerce logo is so large and dominant you would think nopCommerce is selling the products, not my company.

Can you show us step-by-step how to do it? We are not programmers here.

Thanks!
