Best hosting for NopCommerce

I fail to see looking back on this thread, people that were NOT with Arvixe bashing them.  People including myself have related their actual experiences.

When my clients site is down for days, I have to make it work.  In my time with Arvixe, this happened more than once, and I have to use the support channels at Arvixe to find out what's wrong.  I would estimate that I lost about 20 hours doing that.  This is of course not something I can bill my client for.

A few here have debated "shared hosting" and it's suitability for NOP.  What some have said is that it is not suitable for NOP and others (including myself) have responded that it is IF the server is not overloaded.  When I found that Arvixes DB server had 900 databases on it, it was clear what the problem was.

Maybe their NEW server can handle NOP, but if you continue to put more and more users on it, it won't.  This is what happened to the "old" servers.

My opinions ( IT person gone up the ranks to IT manager of two casinos starting in 1991) is that NopCommerce should not be recommending Arvixe without stipulating that you should not use shared hosting.  Arvixe should not be recommending Arvixe for nopcommerce without stipulating that you should not use shared hosting.

Lastly, it don't matter if it's shared hosting or a VPS. If your support staff can't fix it for days.

I have to say my experience with Arvixe so far has been bad.
They are cheap and I get that with that cheap price, there would be a drop off in customer service but this is ridiculous.

The frustration of trying to get something done with them, doesn't match the cheap cost.
It's taken me 4 days to get them to install a cert that I just bought FROM THEM !!!!!

Hi damack2002,

We are sorry that you are having issues. Do you have an open ticket number that we can use to locate your account? We would like to see what has happened with the install and any other issues you may have so we can fix them.

Thank you,

I definitely recommend PeoplesHost because the pricing is good, service is excellent and response time to incident is in minutes. We have been with them for over 2 years hosting over 40 sites and are extremely happy.

I would recommend www.smarterasp.net

we have many nop sites there and some of our clients.

So far no big issues.

I would not recommend them. The same issues that exist with Arvixe are the same that exist with Smarter ASP.net.  My site would be down for hours multiple times per week. Only thing suppport can do is issue an apology? Are you kidding me?

I suggest NopCommerce go back through their paid hosts and delete alot of them. I know they get paid to advertise these guys but it makes nopcommerce look bad by suggesting such bad hosting providers

yes also as someone stated that VPS should be a minimum requirement for Nop Commerce. Otherwise you will get slow speeds and unreliable ping times.

www.smarterasp.net is cheaper and highly recommenced only for beginner/startup who want to start working on nopCommerce with low investment.

@DavidML3 I totally agree with you that this slow down our website for much hours.

I disagree.  You get what you pay for...  if you go with a $2.95 per month shared hosting.  That's fine for testing, but if you are a business, then you need to consider their Semi-dedicated hosting.

Semi Dedicated is just as bas as the shared with these guys not to mention the downtime and bad customer service and slow response times.

IMO I'd look elsewhere for hosting than SmarterASP

Here you can find a long thread on SmarterASP. The issue still plagues them to this very day.

At that time their hosting server was hacked by some hackers.
